College Academics

Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

By virtue of Presidential Decree 470 on 24 May 1974 (amended by PD 700 on 12 May 1975), the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (BSAE) degree program was offered in 1975 as part of the school’s expansion in its curricular offering.

Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering is mandated to provide an integrated educational experience in mathematics, basic sciences, and civil engineering design as well as provide students with the knowledge and skills in construction. VSU started offering the civil engineering curriculum in 2008. Albeit relatively new, the department has since earned at least 85% passing rate in professional board examination for civil engineers.

Computer Science and Technology

DCST aims to equip students with the technical know-how in software development. Students enrolled in this program will be able to apply computer science theory in practical situations, and understand the social and ethical issues that arise from the increased use of technology in society.

Geodetic Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering (BSGE) has been offered under the Department of Geodetic Engineering (DGE) since 2004. The department is one of the best-performing academic departments at VSU owing to its 100% passing rate in the licensure examinations. Graduates from this department have since topped in licensure examinations and have been in-demand in companies.

Mechanical Engineering

The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering under the Department of Mechanical Engineering has been offered since 2011. The department aims to contribute to the local economy and development of the country by training individuals to constitute the strong manpower resource of the nation in the future.

Meteorology

The Department of Meteorology was established by virtue of BOR Resolution No. 109 series of 2016. It envisions that the exigency of professionals in the country who understand how the atmosphere behaves will significantly grow in years.
